2014/01/10 Show Lo to act in new Chinese drama

Rumour has it that Mandopop star Show Lo will be heading to Shenzhen, China, to film Taiwanese director Lin He Long’s new Chinese drama series Three Women and A Man at the end of the month.

Responding to the rumours yesterday, Show’s manager confirmed that both parties are in talks, and that the actor is inclined to take up the role to “repay a favour”. The three dramas which Show previously starred in – Corner with LoveHi My Sweetheart and Hot Shot – were all directed by He Long.
Based on a novel, the new drama will explore various sexual topics such as masturbation. As its lead actor, Show will reportedly be featured in several scandalous scenes, which raised concern among his fans. However, they have been assured that Show’s role would not affect his image as overly erotic scenes will be removed due to broadcasting constraints on TV.

In order to join the production, Show will allegedly have to turn down lucrative job offers as the judge of two reality singing competitions, which would earn him nearly RMB 14 million.

2013/07/29 Show Lo to venture into movie industry

Popular Taiwanese singer Show Lo received praises for his recent cameo performance in Stephen Chow’s action-comedy film, Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons.
Having previously acted in five Taiwan drama series (2009’s Hi My Sweetheart is his most recent work), the singer-actor confessed that he was initially sceptical towards venturing into the movie industry as he was afraid of affecting box office sales. However, Show’s insecurities were proven unnecessary as his comical turn on Journey to the West received rave reviews from the audience. Award-winning actress Shu Qi, 37, who was the female lead in the Stephen Chow and Derek Kok-directed movie also encouraged Show to pursue a career in movies during Journey to the West’s after-party, “While it was not easy to maintain good album sales, the same applies to movies. This is a process where every actor will have to undergo and after a few more tries, I’m sure you will eventually reap rewards,” she said.
Support from his co-star and compliments from the crowd has bolstered Show’s confidence, he is said to be contemplating his next movie project.

2012/08/01 Show Lo: “I don’t believe in marriage”

Show Luo
Show Lo turned 33 on July 30 and the actor made a shocking statement - he does not believe in marriage - during his famous personas-themed birthday bash.
Show, who has celebrated his past five birthdays with his fans took two days off to rest and spend some time on his own. The singer, who engages in extensive charity work, decided to hold a simple birthday party with friends and family. Show also requested that fans and friends not bestow birthday presents on him and instead channel their resources to those in need.
Friends appeared in dressed like all sorts of characters, including Justice Bao and even his mother, but the best costume of the day was the Party Boys with their seven dwarves getup. At the cake-cutting ceremony, Show declared that his birthday wish was for everyone to be healthy, which then prompted his friends to tease him about not wishing to find a girlfriend.
He then shocked the room with his announcement, "I don't believe in marriage, hence I won't waste my wishes on affairs of the heart; I'd rather wish for smooth sailing in my career." Show's manager has commented, "This is the first time I've heard him dismiss marriage, but I'm guessing what he means is that he's married to his fans."

In view of the tensions between China and Japan over a fishing island, Taiwanese singer Show Lo announced on Sunday that he will cancel promotional activities for his new Japanese album. The album is slated for release this Wednesday, September 19th, 2012.
The 33-year-old singer reportedly lost about TWD 10mil  after cancelling his two upcoming concerts on Sept 29 and 30 in Tokyo. Show was supposed to head to Osaka for his promotional tour on Sept 27, and then head to Tokyo on Sept 29 for his concert rehearsals. The tensions however interrupted his plans.
His concerned fans left him many messages on his website, such as “Don’t go! It’s very dangerous!”
Having garnered impressive sales from his previous Japanese single, he decided to release a full Japanese album this time round. Regarding the issue, Show stated, “I don’t find it a pity, it’s just that the current situation isn’t favourable [to have the Japanese promotions].”
